Shower Waterproofing
Whilst resealing is a fantastic repair method it is not suitable for all leaking showers. In shower repairs ‘ONE REPAIR DOES NOT FIT ALL'. Shower waterproofing is sometimes referred to as the shower tray or shower base. The repair involves removing the tiles from the shower floor & 1st row of walls tiles to allow a waterproofing membrane to be installed as per AS3740-2004 (this states that the waterproofing must upturn adjoining walls 150mm). If the shower has a hob (step) then the top & inside of the hob must also have the tiles removed to allow waterproofing to the installed to the outside edge of the hob ie. outside the shower screen. Additional rows of wall tiles may be included in this repair based on the height of the hob &/or condition of the shower walls.
At XLR8'D SOLUTIONS we source the best available tile match, sometimes this means using a different but complimentary tile so that the shower doesn't look like a patched repair but rather a feature! We don't just use a box of white or beige tiles because we have them in the ute but rather we liase with our customers to understand their preferences for tiles & then source the best available tiles. Most importantly we work with the customer to find the tiles they are happy with or allow them to shop for their own tiles before we retile the shower. And to maintain our high level of service, every shower when repaired is rejuvenated with grouting repairs & tap sealing so that not only will the shower not leak but it will look it's best!
